Welcome  2026!

Hi everyone,
As I look back on this past year, I’ve realized just how much life still has to teach me. I’ve said yes to new experiences, including my very first Seahawks football game, weekend trips across Washington, and time spent in communities where people still come together around shared joys like sports, food, and connection.
One moment in particular has stayed with me. I was welcomed into the home of a complete stranger, a person who barely knew my name, who invited me to a Thanksgiving feast that wasn’t even on Thanksgiving. It was an ordinary weeknight, but the second I stepped inside, I felt something extraordinary. Shoes were piled by the door, coats were draped over chairs, voices filled the air with laughter and overlapping conversation. That simple, beautiful chaos… it felt like home.Standing there, I remember thinking: This is it. This is what community feels like. This is what belonging feels like. These are the everyday values that matter most to me, generosity, dignity, respect, and the belief that we build stronger communities when we show up for one another.
Traveling across the state reminded me that these values aren’t abstract. They live in the small acts of kindness we see in every corner of Washington. And I want my kids to continue to grow up surrounded by those moments, spaces defined by empathy, curiosity, and connection rather than division. That’s the culture I want for them, and the culture I see so many of you creating every day.
This past year also gave us much to celebrate within the Clark County Democratic Women. We had candidates who stepped up, ran hard, and won, women whose courage and commitment make our county stronger. I’m incredibly proud of each of them.
And for those who didn’t win this time: you are still part of this family. You showed up with integrity and heart, and you carried our shared values every step of the way. Campaigns end, but community doesn’t, and your place in CCDW is not defined by election results.
As we move into the new year, I especially want to thank those of you who have maintained your CCDW membership or supported us as sustaining donors. Your commitment keeps our organization strong, connected, and ready to serve. Membership is one of the most meaningful ways we continue building the kind of caring, welcoming community we all want to see — right here in Clark County.
If you’re thinking about joining or renewing, we would truly love to welcome you.

I’m grateful for all of you for the work we do, the compassion you bring, and the reminder that at the end of the day, people want to feel connected, respected, and seen. That’s the work of democracy. That’s the work of women. And that’s the work we continue to do here in Clark County.
With appreciation,
Sarah
